We are seeking an experienced API Integration Specialist to lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable integration solutions. This is a hybrid role, and you will be required to work 3 days a week on-site in Glasgow. You will lead the design, development, and deployment of robust, scalable integration solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality integration outcomes. You will ensure seamless data exchange using API design principles and best practices, while maintaining a strong focus on security.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the design, development, and deployment of robust, scalable integration solutions.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and project managers, to deliver high-quality integration outcomes.
  3. Ensure seamless data exchange using API design principles and best practices, while maintaining a strong focus on security.
  4. Work closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements and drive technical innovation within the organisation.
  5. Provide leadership and mentorship to the technical team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Skills & Experience:
  1. In-depth knowledge of API design principles (RESTful APIs, OpenAPI, etc.) and experience with integration tools such as API gateways and message brokers.
  2. Strong understanding of data security principles and integration best practices.
  3. Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
  4. Proven ability to lead technical teams and deliver complex integration projects on time.
  5. Experience working on large-scale transformation programs in core banking, digital transformation, or business transformation is highly desirable.
  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.

Technical Requirements:
  1. Familiarity with integration tools and technologies (e.g., API gateways, ETL tools).
  2. Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, and cloud platforms.
  3. Experience in architect/designer roles, particularly in banking or payment systems.
  4. Strong experience with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment between development, operations, and security teams.
