Marine Consultant

Are you passionate about positively influencing the environmental performance of marine development projects? We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Consultant to join our team. As a Marine Consultant, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of marine projects in sectors such as offshore wind, interconnectors, subsea cables, ports and harbours, and coastal developments.

You will work daily with technical experts, including our in-house marine ecology team, within our established Environmental Impact (EIA) team. We are a founding member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) EIA Quality Mark, and everything we do aligns with our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy.

As a Marine Consultant, you will be responsible for managing environmental inputs across a diverse range of marine projects. This will include the preparation of EIA screening and scoping reports, environmental assessments, and supporting assessments and documents.

You will also be involved in all project life stages, from early strategy development and site identification studies, through feasibility, optioneering, outline design, to detailed design, discharging of conditions, construction, and scheme operation/maintenance.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Marine Consultant who can provide expert advice on environmental matters and ensure that our deliverables are produced to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage environmental inputs across a diverse range of marine projects
  • Prepare EIA screening and scoping reports, environmental assessments, and supporting assessments and documents
  • Involved in all project life stages, from early strategy development to detailed design and construction
  • Provide expert advice on environmental matters
  • Ensure that our deliverables are produced to the highest quality standards

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree in an environmental discipline (preferably a Masters degree)
  • Comprehensive EIA consultancy experience
  • Detailed understanding of marine consenting and licensing regimes around the UK and Ireland
  • Ability to support collaborative teams and coordinate inputs from technical specialists
  • Project management skills, including programming, staff resource, and budget management
  • Commitment to innovation and continuing professional development
