On-Call Firefighter Role

Suffolk County Council is seeking highly skilled and dedicated individuals to join our On-Call Firefighter team. As an On-Call Firefighter, you will play a vital role in providing emergency response services to the community, working closely with our team to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to emergency incidents, including fires, road traffic collisions, and other emergencies
  • Work collaboratively with other emergency services to provide a comprehensive response
  • Participate in regular training and drills to maintain and improve skills
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of emergency response plans
Requirements:
  • Minimum 18 years old
  • Live or work within 5 to 8 minutes of a fire station in Suffolk
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and access to personal transport
  • Have a reasonable level of personal fitness
  • Have permission to be released from your main employment to attend emergency incidents
