About the Role:
The University of Suffolk Dental Community Interest Company is seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced Dental Nurse to join their team. As a key member of the dental team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care and support to patients, working alongside dentists, dental therapists/hygienists, and receptionists. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and innovative team, delivering person-centered care with a focus on prevention, stabilisation, and disease management.
Main Responsibilities:
• Communicate effectively with patients, reassuring and explaining dental procedures, especially when there may be communication difficulties.
• Monitor and support patients, identifying any complications and taking necessary actions consistent with agreed protocols.
• Record treatment, including baseline charting, clinical treatments, and periodontal charting from the dental operator's instructions.
• Undertake reception duties, greeting patients, answering the telephone, making appointments, explaining charges, and collecting payment.
• Liaise with the dental team, senior leaders, and wider colleagues to maintain the effective running of the dental service.
• Assist the operator in organizing the day's activities, preparing the surgery, and clearing up at the end of the session.
• Arrange for the timely supply of materials and laboratory work, and prepare filling and impression materials, instruments, equipment, dressings, and syringes as requested by the dental operator.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be a qualified Dental Nurse with a strong understanding of dental procedures and protocols. A flexible and proactive approach to work is essential, with the ability to think critically and solve problems. A commitment to lifelong learning and professional development is also required.
