Academic English Instructor

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join our team at a mixed multicultural secondary school in Newham. As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and creative lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting their literacy development through effective teaching strategies, and collaborating with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the English department's success.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and deliver high-quality English lessons that cater to diverse learning needs.
- Develop and implement effective literacy strategies to support student progress.
- Contribute to the English department's curriculum development and implementation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for English literature and language.
- Ability to differentiate teaching approaches to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Experience teaching English at secondary level is desirable but not essential for NQTs.
Please note that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
