Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team in the Paediatric Oncology department at Bristol Royal Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to our commitment to excellence in paediatric oncology.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a leading NHS trust, renowned for its expertise in paediatric cancer care. You will have the chance to work closely with a multidisciplinary team, comprising specialist nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive care to children with cancer and their families.

As a Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for assessing patients, developing and implementing individualised care plans, and providing education and support to patients and their families. You will also contribute to the development of clinical policies and guidelines, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and engage in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices in paediatric oncology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients and develop individualised care plans that meet their unique needs and goals.
  • Provide expert nursing care, including administration of medications, wound care, and management of symptoms.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop tailored care plans for patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or surgery.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical policies and guidelines.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid NMC registration as a Registered Children's Nurse (RSCN) or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a paediatric setting, preferably in oncology or haematology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong assessment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands.
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a desire to stay up-to-date with best practices in paediatric oncology.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of £43,041 - £61,618 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits, including:

Location and Working Hours

The successful candidate will be based at Bristol Royal Hospital, working full-time hours (37.5 hours per week). The hospital is situated in the heart of Bristol, with excellent transport links and access to a range of amenities.
