Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to provide support for our KS3 and KS4 curriculum, specifically for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

About the Role:
  • Collaborate with the SENCO, ARC Manager, and Pastoral Manager to enhance the achievement of specific student groups.
  • Coordinate an additional nurture course for students requiring more support than Level 5 TAs.
  • Assist teachers in delivering the KS3 and KS4 in-class curriculum to students with SEN.
  • Ensure effective communication between Learning & Inclusion, ARC, and other stakeholders.
  • Serve as the lead TA for up to 6 students.
  • Model best practices from the EEF guidance "Making Best Use of Teaching Assistants" for the TA team and teachers.
  • Provide support to students individually or in small groups.
  • Assist with healthcare, first aid, and personal needs as required.
  • Take on general responsibilities within the ARC/Learning & Inclusion team.
Requirements:
  • Recent experience working with secondary school students and prior experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Prior experience working with autistic students exhibiting high levels of anxiety.
  • Demonstrated energy and enthusiasm.

Please note that all pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, and in some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
