About Our Dementia Choir

We are a leading voice on the power of music for people living with dementia in Nottingham, working with carers and volunteers to bring the power of music to other communities and organisations within the UK.

Job Title: Charity Manager

We are seeking a dynamic, compassionate, and experienced Charity Manager to lead our team supporting the choir and the charity as it moves into a new stage of development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of the strategic plan, ensuring the charity's vision and objectives are implemented, clearly documented, and communicated to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with current policies, regulatory standards, and procedures, particularly the Charity Commission and ICO.
  • Establish policies and practices that support good communication, staff health and well-being, and effective service delivery.
  • Manage the day-to-day finances of the charity, including creating and implementing a fundraising plan that considers diversifying income streams.
  • Represent the charity externally, shaping its image and reputation through engagement with partners in the statutory, private, and voluntary sectors.
Person Specification and Selection Criteria
  • Essential:
    • Experience in charity management.
    • Experience of developing and implementing strategies.
    • Ability to manage the finances.
    • Demonstrable ability to adhere to regulatory standards and procedures.
  • Desirable:
    • Degree level or further training in relevant areas such as management, leadership, finance, governance.
    • Ability to create an inclusive culture, building diverse teams and ensuring EDI strategy is embedded.
