Critical Care Nurse

The Christie NHS FT is seeking an exceptional Critical Care Nurse to join our team in Manchester. As a leading cancer centre, we provide cutting-edge care to patients from across the UK. Main Responsibilities- Assess and prioritize the needs of critically ill patients and their families, providing client-centred care that promotes health and well-being.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient care, developing and maintaining effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Assess educational and informational needs of patients and families, providing up-to-date information to enable informed decision-making.
- Enhance care within the clinical area by applying relevant research outcomes, promoting evidence-based practice.
- Evaluate nursing care, communicating with medical staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Lead by example, demonstrating competent skills and promoting a culture of excellence within the team.
- Maintain safe practice, adhering to hospital policies and standards.
- Ensure all prescribed medications and treatments are administered in accordance with hospital policy.
- Participate in internal rotation to night duty, supporting other clinical areas as needed.
- Prepare patients for safe transfer to other specialist critical care areas, liaising with nursing, medical, and paramedical personnel.

Person Specification- Essential qualifications: RGN Level 1 or 2, degree or diploma in nursing studies, post-registration certificate in critical care, mentorship course.
- Desirable qualifications: management course, post-registration certificate or course in cancer care.
- Essential experience: extensive experience in a relevant specialty, leadership experience.
- Desirable experience: managerial experience.
- Essential skills: excellent communication skills, ability to work as part of and lead a team, ability to work using own initiative, highly motivated and enthusiastic.
- Desirable skills: computer literacy.
