Precision Machinist

We are seeking a skilled Precision Machinist to join our team at Ash Consulting. The successful candidate will have experience in manual grinding (Surface, Cylindrical and/or Bore) to tight tolerances.

The day-to-day duties of this role will include:

• Surface grinding of high precision gauging and tooling associated with splines and gears for the automotive and aerospace industries working to extremely tight tolerances.
• Setting and operating manual surface grinding machines to ensure production issues are resolved quickly and efficiently, and production KPIs are met.
• Complying with company H&S guidelines.

To be suitable for this role, the ideal candidate will have most or all of the following experience:

• Completed a relevant machining, toolmaker or engineering apprenticeship and have recent experience of CNC/manual surface, cylindrical and/or bore grinding to very tight tolerances.
• An ability to use standard manual measuring devices such as verniers, DTIs, calipers, micrometers, plain plug, screw and ring gauges, gauge blocks and bespoke gauges/fixtures.
