Job Title: Sustainability Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Director to join our team at ENGINEERINGUK. As a key member of our consultancy, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our organization and contributing to our mission of creating responsible and sustainable places.

About the Role

The Sustainability Director will be responsible for developing and implementing client climate change, sustainability, and social value strategies on individual projects. This will involve working closely with project teams to ensure delivery of project outcomes and providing technical expertise in areas such as waste, energy, and carbon management.

You will also be responsible for providing generalist advice and support to major issues of sustainability with all relevant stakeholders, as well as managing a team and championing career development. Additionally, you will work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement client climate change, sustainability, and social value strategies on individual projects.
  • Provide technical expertise in areas such as waste, energy, and carbon management.
  • Work closely with project teams to ensure delivery of project outcomes.
  • Provide generalist advice and support to major issues of sustainability with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage a team and champion career development.
  • Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition.
Requirements
  • Subject matter expertise in environmental and social sustainability.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (postgraduate degree, etc.).
  • Building performance standards - part L & future.
  • Governance & Risk (PMO).
  • Interaction at different levels (executive vs project management) / (design team vs supply chain).
  • Building sustainability into contracts & procurement.
  • Building sustainability into the design process.
  • Sustainability certification (BREEAM, LEED, WELL, etc.).
