Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Research and Development Expert to join our Laser Processing Team based in Coventry. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering technical projects and supporting the development of project-related activities across various technology departments and industrial sectors.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in welding and joining technologies, with experience in robotic and automated welding, arc welding, and welding standards. They will also have excellent communication skills and be able to write reports and present to wider audiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver technical projects and support the development of project-related activities across various technology departments and industrial sectors.
  • Contribute to the delivery of welding solutions for MTC customers, with a focus on technology/manufacturing readiness levels (TRL/MRL) 3+.
  • Identify, specify, and deliver new and novel technology capability into the MTC, customers, or industrial members' premises.

Requirements:
  • Degree calibre engineer or technologist.
  • Strong background in welding and joining technologies, including robotic and automated welding, arc welding, and welding standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, including report writing and presentation.
  • Ideal candidate would have experience in the UK manufacturing sector.

Benefits: The MTC offers a competitive salary package, including a base salary of £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits such as pension scheme, health insurance, and opportunities for career development.
