Health and Safety Specialist

The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Senior Adviser to join our Faculty of Engineering, Computing & Environment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all laboratories, workshops, and offices across our two campuses are fully compliant with the latest health and safety legislation.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of health and safety requirements in engineering-based teaching and research laboratories, with a proven track record of managing health and safety requirements for student field trips.
The Person
We are looking for an individual with a NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent, who is committed to ongoing professional development and has a willingness to undertake training on appointment if necessary.
The Faculty
Our Faculty is a vibrant and exciting environment, offering a wide range of subjects and state-of-the-art facilities, including specialist laboratories, a public outreach centre, and a virtual reality centre. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with expert lecturers and researchers, and contribute to the development of our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation across all laboratories, workshops, and offices
- Manage health and safety requirements for student field trips
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures
- Provide training and guidance to staff and students on health and safety matters
