Job Title: Enterprise Platform Architect

Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid)

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

Provides direction and guidance on IT platform architecture to support business strategy

Supports all architectural disciplines and champions architectural initiatives

Reviews business processes and establishes metrics to improve processes and support architectural disciplines

Works on complex projects requiring in-depth knowledge across multiple architecture domains

Aligns architecture strategy with business goals

Defines and advocates technology strategy

Develops and communicates architectural policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures

Promotes EA process outcomes and results to the organization and senior leadership

Reviews and analyzes architectural requirements as needed

Ensures conceptual completeness of technical solutions

Leads teams in developing technology plans

Consults with project teams to fit projects to enterprise architecture

Ensures recommendations are based on business relevance, timing, and deployment

Collaborates with project management and IT leaders to ensure progress towards architectural alignment

Preferred Experience:

Experience with Esri GIS tools and platforms

Cloud application architecture (Azure/AWS) and GIS architecture

SaaS (Software as a Service) architecture

Required Skills and Experience:

10+ years of experience in technical, substantive, and methodological issues related to design architecture

4+ years of experience in defining enterprise metadata standards and taxonomy

10+ years of experience with various aspects of enterprise architecture and knowledge of formalized frameworks

10+ years of experience applying application/software/systems development methodologies

10+ years of IT and business/industry work experience, including architecture design and deployment

3+ years of experience with Esri GIS tools and platforms

10+ years of experience in cloud application architecture (Azure/AWS) and GIS architecture

5+ years of experience in SaaS (Software as a Service) architecture

Competency with XML constructs and schemas

Experience with API protocols and schemas

Partner with architects and technical team members to develop roadmaps and strategies

Create overall application and solution architectures, component designs, and systems integration and implementations
