About the Role

The Practice Development Midwife will play a pivotal role in supporting midwifery and nursing staff to deliver high-quality patient care by ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an education program for the multidisciplinary team, including maternity, early pregnancy services, and medical students, to promote continuous learning and skill development.
  • Take the lead in creating an environment that challenges and questions practice, promoting critical thinking and quality improvement among practitioners.
  • Collaborate with Heads of Service to identify knowledge and skills gaps among staff and develop targeted training programs to address these gaps.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate ongoing teaching programs to maintain the clinical skills of the multidisciplinary team in line with evidence-based practice.
