About the Opportunity

This Histology Assistant role is an excellent chance to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced laboratory environment. You will work alongside our experienced team to receive and process specimens, enter data into our LIMS, and file patient samples.

As part of the Kent and Medway Pathology Network, you will contribute to the delivery of services across the health sector to a population of nearly 2 million. Our vision is based around a single laboratory information management system (LIMS) and managed services contract (MSC).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process specimens in a timely and accurate manner
  • Enter data into our laboratory information management system (LIMS)
  • Filing and storage of patient samples

Person Specification:

  • Evidence of numeracy and literacy (e.g. standard pass or better for GCSEs in mathematics and English Language)
  • A level or equivalent qualification
  • Certificate of achievement Part 1 or similar

Salary: £22,000 - £29,000 per annum, dependent on experience. Benefits include a comprehensive pension scheme, generous holiday entitlement, and opportunities for career development within the NHS.
