Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant.
Key Responsibilities:- Electrical and mechanical fault finding and rectification on a variety of pressing and blow moulding machinery.
- Conducting planned and preventative maintenance on an array of plant machinery, including hydraulic and pneumatic controlled machinery, working with vacuums and presses.
- Read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications to ensure all work is carried out efficiently and effectively.
- Liaise with and shadow existing engineering team during initial 6 month period to learn the machinery on site and develop skills to maintain and repair production machines.
- Once signed off, you will be the sole engineer on shift so must be able to work alone, although assistance is always available if required.
- Collaborate with the engineering manager to ensure smooth production of the plant.
- Follow and adhere to company Health & Safety policies.
- Minimum 3 years' worth of experience as a mechanical bias engineer within a manufacturing environment (essential).
- Previous experience working with pneumatic and hydraulic machinery (essential).
- In-depth understanding of fault finding/diagnostics on manufacturing machinery (essential).
- Relevant mechanical/electrical Qualifications (City & Guilds/NVQ's/17th/18th edition) - advantageous.
- Ability to work as part of a team and alone.
- Must be eager to learn and develop skillset within mechanical engineering.
- Salary between £35,000-£40,000 dependent on experience.
- Overtime available at 1.5x (2x Sunday / 3x Bank Holiday).
