Head of Maintenance

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team at New Care. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance of our buildings, equipment, and fixtures are in good working order, compliant with safety regulations, and records are up to date.

• Carry out regular inspections throughout the Home to identify and address any maintenance issues.
• Report defects requiring specialist attention in a timely manner.
• Perform domestic painting, decorating, and wallpapering to a schedule defined by the Home Manager.
• Undertake minor joinery work and plumbing.
• Conduct regular inspections/room checks to identify any defects that need rectifying and enter into the maintenance log book.
• Ensure all compliance documents are up to date.
• Carry out Health and Safety and Fire Safety drills and training as required.
• Complete Legionella testing in liaison with consultants.

• Experience in basic plumbing, electrical, joinery, or gardening work is essential.
• Specialist skills in a building trade are preferable.
• Ability to use basic tools and operate equipment.
• Must have a full clean driving license.
• Must be reliable and able to communicate effectively with residents and other members of staff.
