We are seeking a skilled and passionate Nursery Chef/Cook to join our team at Forest Barn Nursery School in Brentwood. The ideal candidate will have a Level 2 Food and Hygiene certification and a minimum of 6 months experience in a similar role.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing balanced and nutritious meals for all children attending the nursery, catering for children with specific dietary needs. They will also be expected to instill Storal values in food and hygiene practices, ensuring compliance with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health-Food Safety, Health and Safety and Ofsted guidelines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing nutritionally balanced meals for children
  • Managing the nursery kitchen safely and hygienically
  • Ensuring children's safety and providing rich stimulating experiences
  • Maintaining stock levels and ensuring stock rotation
  • Deputising for the Cook in all absences

About You:

  • Level 2 Food and Hygiene certification
  • Minimum 6 months experience in a similar role
  • Understanding of Health and Safety regulations and COSHH
