Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Anaesthetic Nurse/ODP to join our team at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective care of patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team in theatres, including pre-assessment, day surgery, and recovery, to ensure patients have a safe journey throughout the perioperative journey.
  • Support the anaesthetic team and contribute to the development of local policies and procedures.
  • Participate in shift patterns, including weekdays, weekends, and unsocial hours, to meet the needs of the department.
  • Implement basic nursing healthcare independently and work as a circulating and scrub nurse in all surgical specialties within the unit.
  • Contribute to the education and training of others, gaining an understanding of clinical supervision and identifying learning opportunities to achieve safe and effective nursing practice.
Person Specification
  • Newly qualified or six months post-registration experience.
  • NMC registered.
  • Desirable: evidence-based practice and/or research skills, ODP training, and anaesthetic certificate.
