Douglas & Grahame Ltd is a renowned independent fashion house celebrating 100 years in business. Their commitment to product quality and exceptional customer service is unmatched across all channels.

The company's future vision is focused on 'connected retail', aiming to create a seamless experience for customers engaging with its brands across offline and online touch points. Leveraging new technologies, they are enhancing customer experience and customer service through an omni-channel sales strategy.

We are seeking a driven and experienced buying professional to join their senior leadership team as Head of Buying.

As Head of Buying, you will lead the development and delivery of the product and buying strategy for several of the organisation's brands. You will be accountable for achieving revenue and margin objectives.

You will maintain a deep understanding of the marketplace and competitive landscape, as well as awareness of key commercial data and retail and consumer trends. This will inform the continual evolution of the product strategy.

You will ensure the delivery of the strategy with and through your team of buyers, designers, and production planners. You will direct the development of commercial collections each season, aligned to the strategy and brand DNA.

You will input to the sourcing strategy, ensuring the suitability of the supply chain in respect of all commercial requirements. You will oversee the seasonal buying & production programming with the buying team to ensure all order fulfilment requirements are achieved.

You will lead, manage, and motivate your team of direct reports. You will ensure each is facilitated to fulfil their responsibilities and continually develop their capabilities.

Key Requirements

  • Experience working in senior positions within the fashion industry, with a strong preference for Menswear
  • Strong demonstrable buying experience
  • Excellent commercial and analytical skills
  • Strong understanding of commercial buying KPIs and metrics
  • Highly organised with a methodical approach to planning for critical deadlines
  • Exceptional track record of successfully leading teams
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to communicate and align team to strategy and vision
  • Ability to work and thrive in a passionate, energetic, and performance-driven environment
