Behaviour Support Worker Opportunity

The East Specialist Inclusive Learning Centre (SILC) is a 2-19 generic special school with 432 pupils on roll, catering to students with special learning needs and physical/medical difficulties. Our organisation operates on multiple sites, providing outreach services across the city, including partnerships with primary and secondary providers, the city-wide Physical Difficulties and Medical Service, and the Medical Needs Teaching Service for Leeds.

We are seeking a skilled Behaviour Support Worker to join our Behaviour team at the East SILC John Jamieson School. The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable pupils with complex behavioural and communication needs. The role involves working with pupils in class, delivering interventions to small groups, and supporting our Lead BSW with the organisation of systems across the site.

The successful candidate will be a good communicator, positive, calm, and willing to work as part of our team. The role is based at John Jamieson but may require working at any site across the SILC. This is a permanent position subject to a 6-month probationary period, with a thorough induction process in place.

The East SILC promotes diversity and wants a workforce that reflects the population of Leeds. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) and medical clearance from Leeds City Council's Occupational Health Service.

The role is based in the UK, and employment is conditional on confirmation of the right to work in the UK. If you do not have the right to work in the UK and the role does not meet eligibility for sponsorship, please consider carefully whether you meet the eligibility to apply.
