Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapy Specialist to join our team at the Islington Learning Disabilities Partnership (ILDP). As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with colleagues from psychiatry, psychology, nursing, and other professions to deliver high-quality support to adults with global learning disabilities and their networks.

About the Role

The successful candidate will use highly specialist skills to assess the impact of an individual's learning disabilities on their occupational performance. You will work within the well-established Occupational Therapist team and contribute to carrying out assessments for people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex health and social care needs.

You will also be responsible for identifying, developing, and delivering training to the network supporting people with learning disabilities, aiming to maximise individuals' engagement in their everyday activities.

In addition, you will support the Lead OT in service development and management of the day-to-day running of the Occupational Therapy Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • To assess the impact of an individual's learning disabilities on their occupational performance using specific OT standardised assessments.
  • To contribute to carrying out assessments for people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex health and social care needs.
  • To identify, develop, and deliver training to the network supporting people with learning disabilities.
  • To support the Lead OT in service development and management of the day-to-day running of the Occupational Therapy Service.
Requirements
  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Evidence of Post Graduate or equivalent specialist training in areas of practice relevant to the post e.g. sensory modulation, learning disabilities, mental health
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Occupational Therapist
Salary and Benefits

This role is salaried at £54,320 - £60,981 per annum inclusive of HCAS. We offer a range of benefits including NHS Discounts, generous annual leave, and an NHS pension scheme.

Please note that this position is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB).
