We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Craftsperson to join our Estates Hard FM Team at Barts Health NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing operational maintenance services throughout the Trust and its associated properties and sites.
Key Responsibilities- Perform statutory maintenance works as instructed to ensure compliance with current HTM's, Water Regulations, ACOP's and Trust policies.
- Undertake duties of a Competent Person (CP) in accordance with the relevant NHS HTM Guidance.
- Maintain and repair cold & hot water systems & plant including calorifiers, water tanks, plate heat exchangers, air handling plant, etc.
- Participate in the Estates emergency on-call rota, which includes out of hours working at all Barts Health Trust sites.
- Liaise and coordinate directly with mechanical contractors in the day-to-day running of the Estates service delivery within the Mile End Hospital and Royal London Hospital Retained Estates.
- Recognised apprenticeship in a mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- Good working knowledge of preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance and associated HTM's.
- Experience of performing planned and reactive work within a mechanical team.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and work on own initiative and within a team.
