About Us

At Optos, our mission is to revolutionize eye care by developing innovative products that transform the way we diagnose and treat eye conditions. As a Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our devices.

We are seeking an experienced reliability engineer to join our team. With a strong background in electrical, mechanical, or optical engineering, you will be responsible for developing comprehensive reliability test plans, identifying critical reliability metrics, and defining accelerated life testing protocols. Your expertise in HALT/HASS, ALT, RDT, ESS, and Weibull analysis will enable you to analyze data and inform decision-making.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and design improvements, communicating technical information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders. A bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or optical engineering or a related field is required, with a master's degree being highly desirable.

A competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus bonus, benefits, and a contributory pension scheme. You will also have access to enhanced holidays, flexible working, hybrid working, and a range of other perks.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering, test development, or validation, preferably in the medical device or automotive industry
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or optical engineering or related field
  • Strong background in reliability engineering principles, methodologies, and tools (HALT/HASS, ALT, RDT, ESS, Weibull)
  • Analytical, systematic, and pro-active
  • Pragmatic and confident communicator who can influence others
