Job Title: Project Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a skilled Project Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Maxim Recruitment. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely cost estimates for residential projects across England.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain detailed cost plans and budgets for residential projects
  • Collaborate with design teams to identify potential risks and ensure adequate provision is made in the budget
  • Work closely with sales teams to ensure that costs are accurately reflected in project budgets
  • Prepare and present final project budgets, ensuring that tendered costs are accurately interpreted and included where possible
  • Conduct thorough site surveys and provide guidance on potential risks and opportunities within a project
  • Research and analyze the cost of materials, labor, and equipment
  • Administer and update the Term Contract Schedule of Rates
  • Assist in the management and preparation of all required specification and contractual documentation for tendering and negotiation of refurbishment works
Requirements:
  • 2-4 years' experience as an Assistant Estimator, Assistant Project Manager, or Assistant Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, preferably in the residential sector
  • Strong understanding of construction estimating methodologies and techniques
  • Ability to take quantities from technical drawings and form a concise budget
  • Competency in assessing contract documents and contract requirements
  • Proficiency with numbers and ability to manipulate mathematical data
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Organized and methodical approach to work
  • IT skills, with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
