Deputy Director of Quality Improvement

The Deputy Director of Quality Improvement will play a critical role in leading the COO Directorate's efforts to improve operational performance and reduce unwarranted clinical variation in the South East Region.
Main Responsibilities- Monitor performance against annual operating plans and constitutional standards, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them.
- Deliver bespoke improvement support to systems via the virtual improvement hub, optimising their overall performance and reducing clinical variation.
- Lead the coordination of regional operational planning and assurance, ensuring that plans are credible and delivered to time and budget.
- Establish good working relationships with senior stakeholders, including clinicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Be accountable for the implementation and delivery of governance and reporting processes, providing programme assurance to all stakeholders.
- Manage multiple requests for information with short deadlines, designing and implementing systems and processes to ensure that there is a grip on, and understanding of, programme performance and delivery issues across the NHS in the South East.

The Deputy Director of Quality Improvement will work closely with the NHS England board and other stakeholders to ensure that the organisation is meeting its purpose and delivering on its promises.
Person Specification- Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience in a specialist area.
- Experience of improvement methodologies, including formal training.
- Significant senior operational experience designing, implementing and running Urgent and Emergency Care Services.
- Performance management of complex services.
- Experience of working with senior clinicians to implement quality improvement approaches to service development.
