About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and strategic individual to join our team as Director of Operations. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of grant applications and managing the company's operational functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grant Writing: Lead the preparation of grant applications, researching and understanding academic papers across various scientific and engineering fields related to the climate crisis and potential engineering solutions.
  • Operational Management: Manage daily operations to ensure the smooth running of the company.
  • Partnership Management: Manage relationships with partner organizations, including shipping companies who will host MCB equipment.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders, including board members, clients, and external partners.
  • HR Support: Assist with hiring processes and employee development initiatives to cultivate a high-performance workforce.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage financial targets and ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure the company adheres to relevant regulations and maintains proper corporate governance standards.
  • Representation: Represent the Managing Director and the company at meetings, conferences, and other external events as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a management role with experience in operations.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly convey complex information.
  • Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
  • Adaptability: Able to adapt to changing circumstances in a dynamic business environment.
  • IT Proficiency: Familiarity with business management software and tools.
