About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our Head Office Underwriting Department at NFU Mutual. As an Engineering Insurance Underwriter, you will play a key role in shaping our engineering insurance strategy and contributing to the company's growth.

Key responsibilities will include recommending and developing underwriting strategies, establishing rules, terms, and risk features, and working with stakeholders to set growth targets and define risk appetite.

You will also be responsible for translating underwriting appetite into workable rules, processes, and communications, reviewing and providing expert judgement to risk rates, and collating and analysing management information to identify opportunities for improving our underwriting strategy.

About You

We are looking for a professional with a wealth of Underwriting or Broker experience in Engineering Breakdown Insurance. You will be technically proficient, have strong communications skills, and be able to establish and maintain impactful working relationships.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Strong knowledge of the Engineering Insurance market and excellent understanding of the factors which influence its performance
  • Negotiation skills, influencing abilities, and vast experience collaborating with a range of stakeholders
  • Effective communication style and the ability to present information to different audiences
  • High level of data literacy and the ability to translate data into actionable insights

An ACII qualification would be advantageous but not an essential requirement for the role.
