Accounts Assistant Job Description

Reed Accountancy & Finance is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their finance team in Co Tyrone. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in managing the accounts payable function for group companies and providing operational support to the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage accounts payable for group companies, ensuring accurate coding, authorization, and posting of invoices.
  • Coordinate payment runs, paid in weekly and on an ad hoc basis, and maintain petty cash records and credit card reconciliations.
  • Support the team with general office and administrative duties, including bank reconciliations for group companies.
  • Assist with VAT returns for UK/ROI companies, CIS and RCT returns for construction companies, and prepare accounts to trial balance.
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two years' finance experience, preferably dealing with group companies in a high-transaction environment.
  • Strong administration, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to think strategically, plan, and make decisions.
  • Good IT skills, with experience of Excel Spreadsheets and preferably Sage Line 50.
