Job Title: Chief Crisis Management Strategist

Salary: $150,000 - $180,000 per annum

About the Role:

This exciting opportunity is part of our Operational Resilience function, where you will play a leading role in crisis and issues management for ION Markets. As a seasoned professional, you will be responsible for building and operating the crisis management programme across the group.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing, building, and managing crisis management frameworks alongside exercise capabilities. They should possess strong technical knowledge and practical experience in managing crises from multiple disciplines, ideally within the financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Leading crisis and issues management for ION Markets during high-profile issues;
  • Developing proactive strategies to protect the company from potential threats through monitoring, reporting, and scenario planning;
  • Overseeing the production of regular crisis risk reports that provide data-driven insights to leadership;
  • Being on-call to handle crisis situations whenever they arise;
  • Producing action plans and other deliverables, such as post-incident reviews and exercising;
  • Supporting the development of proactive strategies to mitigate and manage company-wide risks throughout the incident management process;
  • Crafting frameworks and materials to facilitate effective decision-making in crisis situations;
  • Utilizing software to manage exercising and crisis situations;
  • Preparing and educating the Executive Leadership Team on crisis management principles and plan awareness;
  • Contribute to horizon scanning, scenario, and strategic risk analysis to identify, quantify, evaluate, and plan for potential future reputation and policy risks within the context of the company strategy and positioning;
  • Collaborating with senior internal stakeholders and developing escalation frameworks from incident to crisis management across IT, BCP, communication, and vendor management stakeholders;
  • Overseeing the delivery of complex crisis management plan reviews and framework development.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in all aspects of incident and crisis management;
  • Prior experience advising and managing issues for large, complex multinational organizations;
  • Experience managing fast-paced crises driven by technical issues and traditional/social media events;
  • Experience using analytics tools to manage, measure, and monitor crises;
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing practical risk management processes and frameworks;
  • A track record of proactively identifying next-horizon reputation and regulatory risks and informing and influencing change within organizations to reduce the risk of crises emerging;
  • A track record of developing complex crisis management exercises across all levels of management and senior management;
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to listen and engage effectively with senior network/global leaders during times of high emotional intensity and risk;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound judgments under pressure;
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and conflicting priorities;
  • Experienced in working with legal teams, both in-house and outside counsel;
  • Prior experience interacting with stakeholders from different territories/markets to identify geographical/local risks and support preparation/management as needed;
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity, integrity, and good judgment.
