We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Support Specialist to join our team at Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust. In this exciting opportunity, you will work closely with the Psychiatric Liaison Team based at Cumberland Infirmary, providing essential support to patients, families, and staff.

About the Role

This role requires an individual who is highly motivated, possesses excellent active listening skills, and has experience in caring and basic knowledge of delirium and dementia. As a Clinical Support Assistant, you will be responsible for screening patients within the acute trust, supporting staff and families in their recovery, and helping them understand the temporary nature of delirium.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen patients within the acute trust for delirium
  • Support staff, families, and patients in their recovery from delirium
  • Provide training on how to screen for delirium and receive regular supervision
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a Senior Healthcare Support Worker or equivalent qualification, with experience of working/volunteering in an appropriate care setting. You should also possess good verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work with minimal direct supervision, and proficiency in using IT equipment.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £24,000 - £28,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer a range of benefits, including a pension scheme, life insurance, and access to exclusive discounts and rewards.
