Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Engineer is a critical position within the factory, responsible for the first-level escalation of breakdowns. As part of the shift engineering team, they ensure that breakdowns are fixed promptly in line with priorities.
Breakdowns include mechanical, electrical, and controls. The Maintenance Engineer is also accountable for completing preventative works orders.
Main Responsibilities- Operational Efficiency
- Direct engineering resources to execute preventative maintenance schedules and systems on time, while continually reviewing their effectiveness.
- Ensure plant changeovers are carried out efficiently, with measured productivity.
- All company and legal requirements are met and maintained.
- Quality Focus
- Adhere to Quality Management Systems and properly document processes.
- Collaborate with Production and Quality teams to enhance operating practices, product quality, and customer service.
- Ensure full compliance with Company Quality, Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Environmental requirements.
- Assist in integrating new equipment with manufacturing, operations, and project teams.
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship qualification, Level 3 engineering qualification, or equivalent is beneficial.
- Appropriate experience or qualifications in a related field of manufacturing is advantageous.
- Experience within a high-volume manufacturing maintenance environment is seen as an asset.
- Strong general electrical and/or mechanical engineering skills and knowledge.
- A logical thinker and problem solver with a positive and proactive mindset to resolve issues effectively.
- Experience in the food or consumer products industry is seen as an asset.
