About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our Mental Health team. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for managing and delivering care to a defined caseload of clients, ensuring a high standard of quality care and working in partnership with other disciplines and agencies.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mental health nursing, with experience in clinical supervision and leadership. You will be responsible for the appraisal, management, and clinical supervision of Registered Nurses, junior practitioners, and clinical support workers in the provision of care and treatment within a defined clinical service.

As a Charge Nurse, you will be an integral part of our team, contributing to the development and implementation of care plans and ensuring that our clients receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver care to a defined caseload of clients
  • Ensure a high standard of quality care and working in partnership with other disciplines and agencies
  • Appraise, manage, and clinically supervise Registered Nurses, junior practitioners, and clinical support workers
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration Mental Health/Learning Disabilities
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
  • Postgraduate expertise within speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively, and efficiently
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice
  • Leadership skills to enable the day-to-day management of service delivery
  • Excellent team-working/leadership skills and ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
  • Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology
