Metro is seeking a highly skilled Senior Roadfreight Account Manager to join its dynamic European Roadfreight team based in Earl Shilton.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the daily management and operations of some of Metro's key clients, ensuring their goods are delivered quickly and cost-effectively via Metro's wide network of services and partners.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned European Roadfreight professional to work in a vibrant and forward-thinking company, within a friendly but high-achieving team.

Key Responsibilities:

Management of Roadfreight Accounts:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for some of Metro's key clients.
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders and gain a deep understanding of the client's requirements.
  • Utilize your expertise to manage shipment flows and find solutions for the client.
  • Handle daily shipments, quotes, and queries.

Development and Commercial Awareness:

  • Regularly engage with clients to explore opportunities to grow and maintain Metro's business.
  • Understand the commercial implications of shipment movements.
  • Stay informed about market rates and maintain contacts within the European Roadfreight marketplace.

Integration:

  • Embody Metro's unique customer-focused approach in your daily practices.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of Metro's business and contribute to its growth and prosperity.
  • Collaborate closely with Metro's commercial team during the onboarding and integration of new accounts.
  • Familiarize yourself with Metro's internal systems, practices, and ways of working.

Requirements:

  • Ambition to develop your career further and take on leadership roles as Metro grows.
  • Proven experience in European Roadfreight, ideally 5+ years.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning and attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience in a customer-facing role.
