Job Title: Managing Quantity Surveyor

Murphy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our award-winning Energy team in the North East of England. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance on all commercial aspects of our Power, Transmission & Distribution projects.

About the Role
  • Lead a team of Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors on commercial projects
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies for projects and tenders
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery
  • Monitor and analyze cost/value reports and forecasts
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks
  • Develop and train commercial practitioners
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations
  • Maximize cash position and optimize resource forecasting
Requirements
  • HND/Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or related field
  • Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent
  • Registered with RICS/ICES
  • Excellent knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract (NEC) and Standard Methods of Measurement
  • Commercially astute with substantial experience in the Civil Engineering/Construction industry
