Kitchen Porter Role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our team at the London Croydon Aerodrome Hotel, part of the Signature Collection Hotel by Best Western.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, ensuring all areas are kept clean and tidy.
  • Assist the chefs with food preparation, including washing and cleaning dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen, including sweeping and mopping floors, and removing trash and recycling.
  • Assist with basic food preparation, such as peeling and chopping vegetables.
  • Receive and store deliveries of food and supplies, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Help set up and close down the kitchen, and assist in the cleaning of cooking equipment and work surfaces.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the kitchen team to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen.
  • Report any maintenance or health and safety issues to the relevant person.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working as a Kitchen Porter or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • The ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and evenings.

The London Croydon Aerodrome Hotel is an incredibly convenient location, with easy access to central London and only 15 minutes by train from East Croydon Station. The hotel has 110 bedrooms, including family bedrooms, a stylish wedding venue for up to 130 guests, and 5 meeting rooms for up to 170 delegates.
