Austin Fraser is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join their growing security team in a fully remote role.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have expertise in Microsoft Sentinel and QRadar, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity trends and intelligence. They will be responsible for handling security incidents, triaging threat intelligence, and recommending response actions. The role also involves managing a virtual team of analysts, performing advanced event and incident analysis, and supporting on-call arrangements.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage day-to-day operations, including log review, management report scheduling & running, alert analysis, and escalation follow-up.
  2. Remain current on cyber security trends and intelligence (open source and commercial) to guide the security analysis & identification capabilities of the CSOC team.
  3. Lead a virtual team of L1 and L2 analysts, setting objectives, performance management/reviews, training & development, and BAU activities including shift cover etc.
  4. Perform advanced event and incident analysis, including baseline establishment and trend analysis.
  5. Support on-call arrangements as part of a Rota, to support L1 Analysts working out of hours.
  6. Support Major Incident Response activity, from a Protective Monitoring perspective, including supporting teams in identification, containment, and remediation of security-related threats.
  7. Identify opportunities for SOC and client SIEM platform configuration improvements, use case development, monitoring rule creation, tuning & optimization.
  8. Experience in managing Microsoft Sentinel, including Lighthouse.
  9. Experience of threat intelligence.
  10. Understanding of low-level concepts including operating systems and networking.
  11. Commercial experience in Penetration Testing and/or Security Monitoring.
  12. Understanding of networking and infrastructure design.
  13. Knowledge/experience of DevOps would be hugely beneficial.
