As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you'll be part of a friendly and supportive field-based team helping to inspect and maintain a wide range of ITS assets. You'll enjoy learning on the job, working on site, and delivering good quality work to customers.
Key to this role is an excellent work ethic, flexibility, and a willingness to learn and work as part of a team. We'd love you to have electrical aptitude, but a Traffic industry background isn't essential as we will provide you with training and accreditation.
What will you do?
- Maintain and inspect traffic signals, including servicing, upgrading, and troubleshooting of signal heads, controllers, ancillary equipment, and highways systems.
- Complete electrical tests, periodic inspections with electrical testing and upgrade activities.
- Ensure work is completed to a high and safe standard, to specifications and on time.
- Liaise with contractors and customers on site.
- Analyse and process fault and asset data to support contract and asset performance reporting.
- Support emergency repairs and out-of-hours work to support contract requirements (on a team rota basis).
- Complete mandatory product training and industry and highways sector scheme accreditation.
- Be aware of safety at work and identify potential hazards by removing or minimizing them.
Who are you?
- You enjoy learning new activities, picking up new jobs confidently, and working on site.
- You have an electrical qualification or experience in installation, maintenance, and/or testing of equipment.
- You're helpful and willing to use your own initiative.
- You enjoy working outside and are comfortable working safely and at height.
- You have good attention to detail and enjoy troubleshooting.
- You enjoy working towards the team's goals and work well with other people.
- You're willing to work unsociable hours on a fair rota basis to ensure work can be completed.
- You need a full driving licence and be based within commutable distance from our Swanick depot in Hampshire.
What do we offer?
- Base salary and annual bonus.
- 26 days holiday, increasing up to 29 days with length of service.
- 37.5 hour working week plus paid overtime and unsociable hours uplift.
- Company vehicle, tools, PPE, and uniform.
- Excellent pension, matching contributions up to 10% of pensionable salary.
- Flexible benefits to suit your personal needs.
- Investment in personal development and support to membership of professional institutions.
