About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated R&D Tax Consultant to join our team at Markel International Services Ltd. As an R&D Tax Consultant, you will play a critical role in helping our clients and intermediaries prepare and submit accurate and compliant tax relief claims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet with clients and intermediaries to gather information and document R&D activities
  • Take ownership of a portfolio of clients and intermediaries, providing exceptional service and support
  • Document and analyze client R&D expenditure, identifying opportunities for tax savings
  • Assist in the drafting of technical and financial reports for submission to HMRC
  • Provide detailed technical and financial reports to HMRC, responding to any follow-up communications
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and intermediaries, providing ongoing support and guidance
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and accuracy in all client work
Requirements
  • Degree in a relevant field, such as Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or Tax/Accountancy
  • Strong client-facing skills and experience, with the ability to discuss complex tax matters in a clear and concise manner
  • Excellent written and numerical skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and documents
  • Ability to travel across the UK for meetings and client visits
  • Strong desire to build and maintain a portfolio of clients and intermediaries
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, identifying opportunities for growth and development
