We are seeking a highly skilled Interim Real Estate Lawyer to provide critical legal support to our client’s legal team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with 1-8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in commercial real estate, with a strong background in acquisitions, portfolio management, and construction law.
The Role:
As a Real Estate Lawyer, you will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice and support on a wide range of real estate matters, including acquisitions, portfolio management, construction, and facilities support. You will be the primary point of contact for all real estate legal queries, working closely with internal stakeholders and managing relationships with external counsel. This role is critical to maintaining and expanding our client’s real estate operations and will involve engaging with senior leaders across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Real Estate Legal Support: Provide expert legal advice on acquisitions, portfolio management, construction, and facilities maintenance workstreams.
- External Counsel Management: Set budgets, manage external legal spend, and oversee the work of outside counsel on real estate matters.
- Contract Negotiation: Draft and negotiate a broad range of real estate agreements, including leases, licences, and agreements for lease.
- Strategic Partnership: Work closely with internal teams such as Finance, Supply Chain, and Licensing to align real estate initiatives with broader business strategies.
- Risk Management: Develop and implement processes and procedures to manage risks and liabilities effectively in real estate transactions.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Liaise with global and EMEA real estate teams to ensure consistency with corporate standards and contribute to the development of standardised legal methods.
Requirements:
- 1-8 years PQE in commercial real estate, with strong experience in acquisitions, portfolio management, and construction law.
- In-house experience is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of managing external counsel and handling budgets for legal services.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leaders.
- Highly organised, with strong project management skills and the ability to balance competing priorities.
- Proactive, self-starter who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and driving process improvements.
This role offers the opportunity to be at the heart of our client’s real estate operations, playing a key role in supporting growth and driving efficiency in their legal processes. If you are a motivated and experienced Real Estate Lawyer looking for a new challenge, we would love to hear from you.
