Job Title: Maintenance Operative

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Operative to join our team at Bannatyne Group. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our health clubs, including conducting regular inspections and maintenance of building systems, addressing maintenance issues promptly, and ensuring all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations and club policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, swimming pool, and fitness equipment.
  • Monitor preventative maintenance contractors to ensure the longevity and reliability of equipment.
  • Address and resolve maintenance issues promptly, such as fixing leaks, electrical faults, and equipment malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoot problems and determine the most effective solutions, coordinating with external contractors for certain repairs when necessary.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations and club policies.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and risk assessments, reporting any hazards or non-compliance issues to the Maintenance Manager/General Manager.
  • Ensure all areas of the club, including gym floors, changing rooms, and common areas, are clear, orderly, and in good repair.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a maintenance role.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and good attention to detail.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and being on your feet for extended periods.
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driving license and own vehicle.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Diploma or vocational qualification in a related field.
  • Knowledge and experience in plumbing and joinery.
  • 17th Edition Electrical qualification or equivalent.
