Urban Design Architectural Assistant for Traditional and Progressive Projects

Winchester, Hampshire, United Kingdom Anderselite Ltd Full time

About Us

We are a leading practitioner of traditional and progressive classical architecture and contextual urbanism in Europe.

With studios across the UK, our portfolio of projects covers a range of houses and buildings including new town and country houses, conversions, renovations and extensions, largely for private owners, historic buildings such as monuments, protected and Listed buildings, commercial and institutional buildings such as hotels, healthcare and office buildings, residential developments, masterplans and new urban designs ranging in size from small village extensions to major new developments.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Part II architect or newly qualified Part III architect to assist with our masterplanning, housing and commercial design services.

As a key member of the urban design team, you will play a pivotal role in guiding projects from strategic development through to detailed design, with a particular focus on the architectural elements of larger urban schemes.

You will produce coordinated designs for RIBA Stage 3, ensuring projects seamlessly transition from planning to detailed design and construction.

With a strong emphasis on placemaking, you will work on diverse public buildings, including schools, nurseries, commercial and retail units, community facilities, and residential and specialist housing.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Ability to design by hand and on computer.
  • Experience of operating ArchiCAD is an advantage but not essential as training is provided.
  • No prior experience of traditional or classical architecture is necessary provided individuals have a passion for the traditional and contextual urbanism we promote.
  • Strong interest or experience in urban scale projects up to stage three.
  • Awareness of technical standards, regulatory frameworks, and health and safety requirements.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
