We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Assistant to join our team in Porthcawl & Bridgend. As a Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by providing personalized care and support in their daily activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Prepare and serve meals, ensuring dietary requirements are met
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Accompany clients to appointments and social activities
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment
- Monitor clients' health and report any changes or concerns to supervisors
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and client progress
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge
To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following qualifications and attributes:
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Availability to work every other weekend to ensure continuity of care
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Physical ability to assist clients with mobility and daily activities
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and schedules
- Previous experience in caregiving or healthcare is preferred but not required
- Valid right to work in the UK
- Willingness to undergo a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) enhanced disclosure check
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and training
