Field Service Technician

Our services include the hire and maintenance of a wide range of industrial equipment, such as forklift trucks, sweepers, mobile plants, and lorry loader cranes.
Locations RequiredOur Field Service Engineer role requires travel to various locations across the UK, including Alfreton, Nottingham, Newark-on-Trent, Kirkby Thor, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Northampton, Oxford, Gloucester, Cambridge, Exeter, Brighton, Dartford, and Portsmouth.
About the Field Service Engineer RoleAs a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining a range of materials handling equipment to a high standard, identifying potential repairs and faults to ensure maximum reliability and uptime.
You will also be required to carry out PAT and lifting equipment inspections, ensuring all site health and safety and PPE rules are maintained and observed at all times.
Your Key Responsibilities- Servicing, maintenance, and repair of materials handling equipment, including forklifts, side loaders, and reach trucks.
- Using our market-leading Fleet Management System to complete parts orders, job sheets, and warranty work.
- Providing a best-in-class customer experience for our business customers.
- Booking all Planned Maintenance with customers.
- Agreeing workload with the Field Service Team Leader, prioritising tasks as required.
- Supporting Patch Engineers and ensuring all chargeable services are completed each month.
- Ensuring all fleet servicing is completed by the end of the month.
- Establishing daily telephone contact with the Operations Controller to cover service completion, estimate and damage requests, and clearing out WIP.
- Carrying out lifting equipment examinations and PAT testing as required, liaising with the Field Service Team Leader.
- Performing other tasks as directed, commensurate with the efficient running of the organisation within the skills and capabilities of the individual.
- Experience in servicing, repairing, or maintaining materials handling equipment, construction plant, agricultural machinery, or powered access equipment.
- Knowledge of automotive, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and components.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Relevant technical qualifications would be advantageous.
