Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Project Leader to join our team at BAE Systems. As a Commissioning Project Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of Mechanical Engineers in the Weapons Test Section, overseeing Mechanical rip outs, reviewing and authoring test documentation, and developing mechanical engineers in the Weapon Test Section.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Mechanical Engineers in the Weapons Test Section
  • Oversee Mechanical rip outs for the Weapon Test Section
  • Review and author test documentation in relation to the Weapons Test Section
  • Develop mechanical engineers in the Weapon Test Section
  • Deputise for the Weapons Managers in their absence and act as temporary lead, covering all weapons section meetings
  • Liaise with other test departments and sections to ensure safe control of work

Requirements:

  • Good commissioning knowledge of Submarine Weapons Handling Systems
  • Strong understanding of the Installations and Final Installation process for mechanical systems
  • Experience of reviewing mechanical and weapons technical documentation and drawings
  • HNC in Mechanical Engineering subjects or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience as a Team Leader/Mentor
  • Knowledge of HP & LP Air and Hydraulic Systems
  • Experience of DSEAR (Dangerous Substance, ATEX-Explosive Regulation) and CHARN/ISO regulations and standards
  • Stakeholder engagement and interface skills
