Job Title: Cover Manager/Learning Supervisor

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Cover Manager/Learning Supervisor to join our team at Parkside School. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize and manage cover arrangements for teachers and classes, minimizing disruption to students' learning.
  • Coordinate with teaching staff, supply agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure effective cover provision.
  • Supervise classes in the absence of teachers, providing instruction and support to students.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as maintaining records, preparing reports, and communicating with parents.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents, promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with other support staff to ensure effective communication and coordination of cover arrangements.
  • Stay up-to-date with school policies, procedures, and legislation related to cover management and student support.
Requirements:
  • A good understanding of the education sector and experience working with children and young people.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with a calm and patient demeanor.
  • Proficient in using IT systems, including Google Suite and SIMS.
  • Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
Desirable:
  • Previous experience working in an educational setting, preferably in a cover management or teaching assistant role.
  • Knowledge of specific curricular areas or key stages.
