Main Responsibilities

The Embedded Software Test Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software developed for embedded systems. This includes:

Software Development and Testing
  • Designing and developing software to support efficiency, quality, and testability in engineering and operations activities
  • Authoring software to support manufacturing execution systems and functionality design
  • Configuring and version controlling software
  • Implementing continuous improvement within coding standards and development processes
System Testing
  • Generating and executing system validation and verification, reporting issues and making recommendations to improve the system software
Software Testing
  • Generating and executing software validation and verification, reporting issues and making recommendations to improve the software

The role also includes:

Design and Delivery
  • Designing and delivering supporting software on-time, to cost, and to specification
Research and Development
  • Carrying out research and development of new products and techniques to benefit efficiency, quality, testability, and safety
Collaboration and Communication
  • Liaising with other engineering disciplines and internal customers to establish and agree product specifications
  • Liaising with external customers and suppliers and representing the company at meetings

The Embedded Software Test Engineer will work in accordance with Avon design procedures and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest software engineering processes.
