About the Role:

TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to support students with Autism and SEMH needs in Primary schools in Redditch. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work with students, teachers, and therapists to develop personalized support plans and implement strategies to de-escalate challenging situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in developing and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual students' abilities, learning styles, and needs.
  • Provide 1:1 and group learning support to students with additional needs.
  • Support students with SEMH needs by creating a safe environment and adapting teaching support according to their needs.
  • Work with students, teachers, and therapists to develop personalized support plans.
  • Implement strategies to de-escalate challenging situations and promote a safe learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualified and/or a minimum of 6 months' experience in an educational establishment.
  • Calm, patient, and caring persona.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines.
  • Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and small group basis.
  • Effective behavior management skills.
  • Effective communication with members of internal staff.
