Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Wheel and Brake Proposal Engineer to join our team at Parker Meggitt. As a key member of our Braking Systems Division, you will be responsible for executing the initial design of new wheel and brake equipment, ensuring that the design meets customer, government agency, and internal standards.

You will coordinate with stress, thermal, vibration, and reliability analysis engineers to guarantee adequate margins against design requirements are met in a timely manner. Additionally, you will compile design and analysis information into proposal reports and deliver presentations for internal and external reviews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform clean sheet design work to produce viable wheels and brakes based on customer requirements
  • Research existing designs and product data to optimize offerings to customers
  • Conduct calculations and simulations to validate that the equipment will meet required design requirements
  • Create 2D layouts and 3D models using industry-standard software
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Aircraft systems knowledge or experience
  • Ability to work on designs of varying scope, following standard practices and procedures while customizing designs based on customer needs
  • Proven ability to build stable working relationships internally and with proven engineering experience in a team setting
